What Is Sport+ on an Acura MDX Type S?

It adjusts several vehicle systems to optimize them for more spirited driving. Here’s what Sport+ mode typically modifies in the Acura MDX Type S:
- Throttle Response: The throttle response becomes more immediate, meaning the engine will react more quickly when you press the accelerator, providing a more engaging driving experience.
- Transmission Behavior: In Sport+ mode, the transmission shifts more aggressively, holding gears longer and downshifting more quickly to keep the engine in a higher RPM range, which is ideal for performance driving.
- Suspension Stiffness: The suspension system becomes firmer in Sport+ mode to improve handling and reduce body roll, allowing for better cornering and stability during fast driving.
- Steering Feel: The steering may become more responsive and precise, offering a sportier, more direct feel on the road.
- All-Wheel Drive and Torque Distribution: On the MDX Type S, which features Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system, Sport+ mode can adjust the power distribution to the wheels to enhance traction and performance during aggressive driving, particularly on twisty or uneven roads.

What Are the Brembo Brakes on an Acura MDX Type S?
Brembo brakes are a high-performance brake system provided by Brembo, an Italian company known for its advanced brake technology. The system is designed to enhance braking performance by providing superior stopping power, durability, and heat management compared to standard brake systems.
Brembo brakes are especially well-suited to the sportier and more performance-oriented trim of the MDX. They include features like:
- Larger Brake Rotors: Brembo brakes feature larger rotors that can handle more heat and stress, which improves braking efficiency during high-speed driving or in performance-oriented situations.
- Piston Design: Brembo calipers feature more pistons (typically 4 or more) for better force distribution. This greatly enhances brake feel and consistency under hard braking.
- Heat Dissipation: The advanced materials and design used by Brembo help in better heat dissipation, reducing brake fade during extended or heavy braking.
- Improved Stopping Power: Brembo brakes are engineered to provide stronger and more immediate braking, which is ideal for a high-performance SUV like the MDX Type S.
Are There Any Changes for the 2025 Acura MDX Type S?
For 2025, the Acura MDX Type S has a few tweaks, most notably an upgrade to a 12.3 inch proper touchscreen. This replaces the touchpad controls that operated the infotainment system previously. Drivers consistently reviewed the touch controls as awkward, and Acura took the feedback to heart. The new system comes pre-loaded with a full suite of Google apps for added convenience and seamless smart device integration. The cabin has also been insulated further and the rear glass is laminated, so it is around 10% quieter than the previous model.
All MDX trims will feature a Bang and Olufsen luxury sound system, but the Type S is the only one to have the all-new AcuraWatch™ 360 system. This system utilizes additional front corner radars, front millimeter wave radar, and a higher fidelity camera to deliver the most advanced assist capabilities possible. r

The Acura Integra A Spec: A Beauty And A Beast
If you’re in the market for a compact luxury sport sedan that excels in performance, features, and technology, the Acura Integra A Spec Package should definitely be on your radar. As one of the top-tier trim levels in the Integra lineup, the A Spec Package delivers an exhilarating driving experience while boasting premium features and cutting-edge technology that cater to any driver, whether you want to coast in comfort or channel your inner race car driver. Let’s take a closer look at this beauty of a car and see what makes it one of the most popular luxury sedans in the country.
What Is the Acura Integra A Spec Trim Level?
The A Spec Package is the second level trim in the Integra lineup. It has been designed to enhance the driving experience with sportier styling, performance upgrades, and advanced technology..
Engine Specs Of The Acura Integra A Spec
The turbocharged 1.5-liter engine is engineered to provide a perfect balance of power and efficiency. With 200 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque, the Integra A Spec Package delivers a delightfully zippy (yet smooth) ride.
Transmission Options For Acura Integra A Spec
Continuously Variable Transmission
The Integra A Spec utilizes the CVT found in many Honda-made cars. This type of transmission is focused on convenience and driving comfort. Unlike conventional automatic transmissions, which have fixed gears, a CVT uses a belt and pulley system to seamlessly adjust the engine’s power output to the wheels. This allows the engine to operate at its most efficient RPM for a given speed, providing a smooth acceleration without the jerky shifts that can occur with traditional gear-based transmissions. As a result, the ride feels more fluid, and the vehicle delivers power more consistently, especially during stop-and-go driving.l.
Acura Integra A Spec Drivetrain and Performance Features
- Front-Wheel Drive (FWD): All trims of the Integra are available in FWD only. In addition to being lighter weight and easier to repair, FWD vehicles are typically easier to drive for most people, especially in everyday conditions. In wet or slippery conditions, FWD can feel more predictable and stable because the front wheels are in charge of both steering and propulsion. They are less likely to oversteer (when the rear of the car swings out), which makes them easier for many drivers to control.
- Integrated Dynamic System: This system allows the driver to customize and adjust the vehicle’s performance characteristics based on driving preferences and road conditions. The system provides different driving modes that can alter settings such as throttle response, steering feel, suspension stiffness, etc. This enhances the driving experience by offering a range of options for both everyday driving and more performance-oriented needs. In sport mode, for example, the throttle response is more immediate and steering is firmer.
- Available Adaptive Damper System: Enhance the ride quality even further with this optional system, which automatically adjusts the suspension for an even smoother, more refined driving experience.
Interior Features Of The Acura Integra A Spec
As a luxury car,, you can expect a plush interior for your Acura Integra A Spec. This includes:
- Leatherette Trimmed Sports Seats
- 8-Way Power Driver’s Seat for a customizable, comfortable driving position
- Heated Front Seats to keep you warm during chilly weather
- 7-Inch Touchscreen Infotainment System.
- 8-Speaker Premium Audio System: Enjoy a concert-like experience with this high-end audio system.
- Phone Charging USB-A 2.5 Ports in the front row ensure that your devices are always powered and ready for the road ahead.
Exterior Features Of Acura Integra A Spec
The Acura Integra A Spec comes with a range of stylish and performance-oriented exterior features that elevate both its aesthetics and functionality. Most are geared toward making the car look and feel more sporty, but a few improve efficiency as well:
Sporty Front Design
- Gloss Black Front Grille: The A Spec model features a bold, gloss black front grille.
- LED Headlights and Tail Lights: The Integra A Spec comes with distinctive Jewel Eye™ LED headlights that provide a premium look and superior illumination. The back is equipped with signature LED tail lights.
A-Spec Front Bumper and Lower Spoiler:
- The A-Spec trim features a more sculpted front bumper with a unique lower spoiler design. This gives the car a sportier, performance-oriented stance while also improving aerodynamics and front-end cooling.
18-Inch Wheels with Machined Finish
- The A Spec is equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels with a machined finish. These wheels not only enhance the vehicle’s aesthetic appeal but also improve handling and performance by reducing unsprung weight.
- Sporty Tire Design: The tires on the A-Spec are designed for better grip for a more responsive and dynamic driving experience.
Wide Fenders
The wider fenders give the car a more aggressive stance, once again to emphasize its sporty nature. This design also helps accommodate the larger wheels and tires while contributing to a more muscular look.
Side Sills and Rocker Panels
The side skirts or rocker panels on the A-Spec model add to the car’s sleek, low-slung appearance (crouching tiger comes to mind).
Dual Exhaust with Chrome Tips
The Integra A Spec features a dual exhaust system with chrome tips to give the car a sportier look and enhance its performance-focused appearance. The dual exhaust also contributes to bigger rumble from the engine (sports car, am I right?).
Roofline and Rear Spoiler
The Integra A Spec model comes with a subtly integrated rear spoiler, which enhances the car’s aerodynamics and sporty character. The rear spoiler also adds a more performance-oriented visual appeal to the overall design.
Available Colors For The Acura Integra A Spec
We really love looking at the names of colors for these cars. Who comes up with these? “My car is NOT white. It is PLATINUM WHITE PEARL.” Anyway, you have a few very fancy options when it comes to color choices for your Acura Integra A Spec:
- Lunar Silver Metallic
- Majestic Black Pearl
- Liquid Carbon Metallic
- Performance Red Pearl
- Platinum White Pearl
- Apex Blue Pearl

“S” Is For “Sport”: The 2025 Acura TLX Type S
The 2025 Acura TLX Type S continues Acura’s legacy of blending precision performance with luxury and practicality. As the high-performance variant in the TLX lineup, the Type S is designed for drivers who want a little more engine heft (actually, a lot more) and sportier vibes. Let’s take a closer look
What Type of Car is the 2025 Acura TLX Type S?
The 2025 Acura TLX Type S is a luxury sports sedan, which means you get the refined driving experience the brand is famous for. But the S kicks up the performance aspect of the TLX model with significantly enhanced power and handling.
Where Does the TLX Type S Fit in the Lineup?
The Type S is at the top of the TLX trim options. Here’s a quick rundown of the TLX lineup:
- TLX Base – The entry-level trim with essential luxury features
- TLX Technology – Adds more advanced tech and comfort features
- TLX A-Spec – Sportier look and feel with enhancements
- TLX Type S – High-performance engine and more advanced performance features (we’re getting to those).
Engine Specifications
So, just how powerful is the 2025 Acura TLX Type S? Well, it’s powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine that produces a whopping 355 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and Acura’s SH-AWD system to ensure excellent traction and handling (more on that in a minute).
Acceleration is swift, with a 0-60 mph time of approximately 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 156 mph. 355 hp, endless torque, 0-60 in under 5 seconds, all wrapped up in a luxury sedan that’s quiet as a mouse? This one’s for you, sneaky thrill-seekers.
What, Exactly, Is SH-AWD?
The Acura SH-AWD (Super Handling All-Wheel Drive) system is a sophisticated all-wheel-drive technology developed by Acura to enhance vehicle performance, handling, and stability, particularly in challenging road conditions. Here’s an overview of how it works:
- Dynamic Torque Distribution:
- The SH-AWD system actively distributes torque between the front and rear axles to improve handling and traction. Under normal conditions, the system primarily powers the front wheels, but when additional traction is needed, it sends torque to the rear wheels.
- The system can also redistribute power between the left and right rear wheels. This feature is particularly beneficial in improving cornering performance by applying more torque to the outside rear wheel, which helps pull the vehicle through turns.
- Improved Handling:
- By sending more torque to the rear wheels and even to the outer rear wheel during cornering, SH-AWD enhances the vehicle’s cornering stability and agility. This helps reduce understeer (when the car pushes wide in a turn) and gives the vehicle a more balanced, controlled feel.
- It’s especially beneficial during aggressive driving, ensuring that the vehicle handles more like a rear-wheel-drive car while still maintaining the stability and traction benefits of all-wheel drive.
- Enhanced Traction:
- The system enhances traction in low-grip conditions, such as wet, snowy, or icy roads. It automatically adjusts torque distribution to maintain optimal traction, making the vehicle more stable and predictable in such conditions.
- Sporty Driving Experience:
- SH-AWD helps maintain a sportier, more responsive driving experience by optimizing torque delivery. This is a key feature for performance-oriented models like the 2025 Acura TLX Type S..
Other Key Features of the 2025 Acura TLX Type S
That turbocharged engine aside and superior handling aside, the TLX Type S is packed with other features to enhance your driving experience:
Seating and Upholstery
The cabin features exclusive Milano leather-trimmed seats with Ultrasuede inserts, providing both support and luxury. These seats are 16-way power-adjustable with adjustable side bolsters. The Type S branding on the headrests adds a distinctive touch.
Dashboard and Controls
Designed with the driver in mind, the dashboard houses a prominent drive-mode selector to let you make quick adjustments to performance settings. The 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster presents customizable driving information, keeping essential data within the driver’s line of sight.
Technology and Connectivity
The 2025 Acura TLX Type S is equipped with a 10.2-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, controlled via a touchpad interface. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. There is also an available 10.5-inch head-up display to project needed information onto the windshield so you never have to divert your attention from the road.
Performance Features
Highlighting its performance pedigree, the interior includes a flat-bottom steering wheel inspired by the NSX, to give it a sporty feel. Paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel provide manual control over gear changes for a more engaging drive.
Ambient Lighting
The Iconic Drive™ Ambient Cabin Lighting system offers 24 selectable themes, inspired by renowned racetracks and scenic drives. This feature allows drivers to personalize the cabin’s atmosphere to their preference.
AcuraWatch Safety Suite
Of course, your 2025 TLX Type S also comes with the standard AcuraWatch safety suite. This includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control.
Is the 2025 TLX Type S a Reliable Car?
At close to $60,000 MSRP, we understand your concern about whether or not the 2025 Acura TLX type S is reliable. And there are no silly questions…but this is a Honda vehicle, remember? Honda is basically synonymous with “reliable.” If you’re a numbers person, how’s this: JD power gives rates its reliability at 79 percent, which is just shy of the “great” category (very hard to get). And it was given a 10/10 for safety by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Mic DROP.
What’s New in the 2025 Acura TLX Type S?
Compared to the 2024 model, the 2025 TLX Type S brings some exciting updates:
- Improved Performance:
While the powertrain remains largely unchanged, there have been refinements to the suspension and handling to improve the car’s ride and driving dynamics. - Updated Interior Tech:
The 2025 model introduces additional tech features, including an updated version of the AcuraLink system and a larger, more intuitive 10.2-inch infotainment screen with improved functionality. - New Paint Options:

The All New 2025 Acura ADX
Acura is expanding its SUV with an exciting new model: the 2025 Acura ADX. As the brand’s first entry into the compact luxury SUV segment, the ADX is designed to offer a stylish, fun-to-drive experience while maintaining Acura’s reputation for reliability and performance. If you’re considering a premium crossover, here’s everything you need to know before you test drive at Mile High Acura.
What Kind of Car Is the Acura ADX?
The 2025 Acura ADX is a compact luxury SUV positioned just below the Acura RDX. It’s designed to compete with models like the BMW X1, Audi Q3, and Lexus UX, offering a balance of sporty performance, swanky features, and driver/passenger convenience. With sleek styling, sharp handling, and advanced technology, the ADX is expected to appeal to drivers looking for a powerful, roomy vehicle that also ticks all the boxes of a luxury sedan.
2025 Acura ADX Engine Specs & Performance
While official details are still emerging, the Acura ADX is expected to share powertrain options with the Honda CR-V and Acura RDX, likely featuring:
- Turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine
- Continuously variable automatic transmission
- Expected 200 horsepower
- Standard FWD, but AWD is optional on all trims
How Many MPG Does the Acura ADX Get?
Fuel efficiency estimates haven’t been released yet, but considering its expected powertrain, the 2025 Acura ADX will likely deliver around 28-30 MPG combined–more than decent for an SUV. This would align the ADX with competitors while maintaining Acura’s performance-focused edge.
How Big Is the Acura ADX?
Acura has specified the following dimensions for the ADX:
- Wheelbase: 104.5 inches
- Length: 185.8 inches
- Width: 72.5 inches
- Height: 63.8 inches
- Cargo space: 24.4 cubic feet
These measurements position the ADX slightly longer than competitors like the BMW X1 and Audi Q3, and similar in size to the Lexus NX. Despite its compact exterior, the ADX offers a spacious interior, providing 37.7 inches of rear legroom. Cargo capacity is 24.4 cubic feet behind the second row, expanding to 55.1 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down.
What’s Inside the Acura ADX?
Acura’s interiors are known for blending luxury with technology, so expect plenty of high end features and gadgets. We know for sure the ADX will include the following:
- AcuraWatch™ suite of advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies
- 10.2-inch Acura Precision Cockpit™ digital instrument display
- 9-inch touchscreen
- Automatic climate control
- Power liftgate
- Leather seats
- Ambient lighting
- 12.3” infotainment system
- Wireless Apple CarPlay®
- Wireless Android Auto™
Can the 2025 Acura ADX Go Off-Road?
While the ADX isn’t a hardcore off-roader, the AWD upgrade will give it the confidence to handle light trails, gravel roads, and snowy conditions. For those who need a little extra capability, a higher riding trim with added ground clearance could be an option, but it won’t compete with rugged SUVs like the Honda Passport TrailSport or the Acura RDX.
Acura ADX Trim Levels
The Acura ADX will be available three trim levels:
- Base ADX: Starting at $35,000, this entry-level trim comes equipped with a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine delivering approximately 200 horsepower. Standard features include a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a moonroof, and the AcuraWatch suite of safety technologies. Front-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive available for an additional $2,000.
- ADX A-Spec: Priced from $38,000 the A-Spec trim enhances the vehicle’s sporty aesthetics and comfort. It adds 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic moonroof, LED fog lights, sport seats with synthetic suede upholstery and red contrast stitching, ventilated front seats, a power-adjustable passenger seat, ambient LED cabin lighting, and a leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel. As with the base model, all-wheel drive is optional for $2,000.
- ADX A-Spec with Advance Package: Starting at $42,000 this top-tier trim includes all features from the A-Spec and adds premium amenities such as gloss black 19-inch wheels, front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking, a 360-degree camera system, a hands-free power liftgate, remote start, rain-sensing windshield wipers, leather seats with synthetic-suede inserts, a heated steering wheel, integrated Google Built-In services with a complimentary three-year data plan, and a 15-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system. All-wheel drive remains a $2,000 option.
Where Is the Acura ADX Made?
Unlike other Acura SUVs made in the US, the 2025 Acura ADX will be manufactured in Mexico. Honda is working on moving production to some of its US factories to help mitigate upcoming tariff costs, but it’s making sure quality remains top-tier despite the potential move.
When Will the 2025 Acura ADX Be Available?
The Acura ADX is expected to hit dealerships in early 2025 (hopefully within the next couple of months!). Keep an eye out for official announcements, as demand for this new model is expected to be high.
